International Call Up For FSA Players

Updated: Oct 14, 2021

Four FSA scholars have been awarded international recognition for their impressive work this season.

Charlie Kennett, Enry Dorbor, Michael Akintunde & Beth Moloney have all been called up to represent the English Colleges Football Association this summer in tournaments and international games. The scholars from London & Leicester, all received the great news last week as the ECFA announced the squad selection after recent trials held at our home in Leicester.

It’s the first time FSA have received an international call up and something that founder Christian Fuchs is very proud of. “It is an amazing achievement for our academy but even more for our players to be called up to the England college squad. I am so proud of them. They have rightfully deserved this stage to showcase themselves due to their desire, dedication and professional attitude on and off the pitch. They are role models for all our players and for future players at Fox Soccer Academy.” In recent years the national squad have travelled across Europe competing against countries from Europe and the Northern Hemisphere. Due to the pandemic our understanding is that the squad will take part in something slightly different this season. International Programme Director Mark Smith believes that whatever happens this year, the players should be ready for the challenge: “We aren’t sure what the plans are this season for the selected squad but whatever they do I know they will represent our academy and it’s values. They have all been incredibly resilient and strong minded this season and all four know what this call up means to everyone involved in the programme. We will be supporting them all the way” You can find out what all four players are up to this summer with the national squad by following our social media channels. From everyone’s FSA we wish Charlie, Enry, Michael & Beth all the best.
