This week has seen our annual showcase event, where FSA Leicester took on FSA London at the Leicester City FC training ground at Belvoir Drive.
In what promised to be a great showpiece event for our players, they didn't disappoint. The 1st half was dominated mainly by FSA Leicester, they moved the ball well enabling them to exploit gaps in the London defense, and managed to take a 2-0 lead into the break after Suhaib Gunnan bagged a brace, from 2 very well worked moves from back to front.
Scouts in Attendance
Premier League: Chelsea FC, Leicester City FC, Burnley FC
Championship: Nottingham Forest, Hull City FC, Sheffield Wednesday
League 1: Luton Town, Walsall FC, Peterborough United
League 2: Colchester United
In the 2nd half FSA London came out fighting and weren't going down without a fight! After a sustained spell of pressure they where able to score and make it 2-1 with 20 minutes to play. FSA Leicester then started to find their feet again and kept the ball in order to see out the game and create a couple of great chances themselves, forcing two outstanding saves from the FSA London goalkeeper Jaydon Regis.
As the final whistle blew we knew both sides had showcased their talents, and the standard of the game was very high, which was echoed by numerous scouts and clubs on the sideline. Overall everyone can be proud of their efforts and we hope that some players go into professional clubs from the event.
