FSA founder Christian Fuchs has taken his first step into management after being announced as the new assistant coach of MLS side Charlotte FC.
It comes off the back of a busy week for our Austrian leader as he calls time on an incredible 19 year playing career.
Christian began his senior career as a teenager at Wiener Neustadt before signing his first professional contract at 17 with SV Mattersburg. In 2008, he left for Germany, signing for VFL Bochum, after a season on loan at Mainz he signed for Schalke 04 in 2011 making 99 appearances including some memorable matches in the UEFA Champions League. In 2015, he signed for Leicester City FC winning the Premier League title in his first season at the club. Over 6 seasons, Christian made 116 appearances for the foxes before leaving in 2021 and spending his final few years with MLS club Charlotte FC.
Christian was immediately made club captain in Charlotte and helped lead the team to an impressive season in their first MLS ride.
Our FSA founder has now called time on an incredible playing career and taken on new and exciting challenges in soccer. He will join Charlotte FC in the dugout and support manager Christian Lattanzio.
Christian will continue to support FSA in the background and pass down valuable knowledge to all our coaches and players. Everyone at FSA is extremely proud of our academy founder and we look forward to watching him in his new career.
You can see Christian in his new role on the 21st January as Charlotte FC take on St. Louis in pre season action.
