Ten (10) of our FSA PRO players made history with our partner club Aylestone Park FC by reaching the 1st round of the FA Youth Cup.
In what was a game of two halves, our team was able to make history and come out 3-0 winners. In the 1st half, Bedworth came out the stronger, they were a very direct side with a strong and quick front 3, but also very well organised defensively. After a couple of world class saves by Josh Wormleighton, we were able to get to the break at 0-0.
Then the tide changed our team came out fighting. After 15 minutes, Ben White got up at the back post and headed into the bottom corner, 1-0.
Then after a great bit of play down the left, Aaron Nuttall was brought down in the box, and just like at Notts County he converted the spot kick into the bottom right corner, 2-0 (video below).
Our team wasn’t going to stop there: after a corner to the back post, William Warren was able to head the ball back across the goal and Charley Kilburn converted giving us a 3-0 lead with just 10 minutes to play (video below).
It was Henry Beeby who took the man of the match award after a tremendous performance at right back nullified their main threat.
The Cup Run So Far
The team has had to win 4 games to reach the 1st round, they beat Borrowash Victoria 4-1, Lutterworth Town 11-1, Notts County 3-2 and now Bedworth United 3-0.
Let's see what is in store for our boys next! They can all be very proud of what they have achieved so far.
On a separate note Aaron Nuttall is currently the top scorer in the whole of the FA Youth Cup with 11 goals, long may that streak continue and who knows where it may take him.
